Shampoo Bars: Worried if they’re right for you?

Did you know your liquid shampoo strips your hair of its precious oils? Have you considered ditching the SLS? If you have, chances are you’ve looked into what could be the perfect shampoo bar for you. Many liquid shampoos are detergent based; therefore shampoo bars have now become the obvious alternative.

What are shampoo bars?
Shampoo bars are the solid versions of shampoo, often made with natural oils and environmental friendly packaging. Although shampoo bars are normally crafted without harsh chemicals, preservatives or additives this doesn’t mean they’re necessarily good for the environment. In a few cases you’re likely to find palm oil creeping into the ingredient list of these bars. A few of these bars even contain artificial fragrances and colors. At The Happy Bathing Co. we do not make use of any forms of chemical, SLS or harsh additives in our shampoo bars. Shampoo bars have also eliminated the need for plastic bottles! If you’re an ardent shampoo bar user then congratulations! You’ve helped reduce the burden of plastic waste on our planet.

Shampoo bars handcrafted at The Happy Bathing Co. are cold processed bars, contain absolutely no chemicals, preservatives or sulphates and effectively clean your scalp. Even if you’ve heavily oiled your hair, our bars break down oils and get rid of excess scum and impurities leaving you with bouncy, clean and nourished locks. These bars are specifically formulated to target mild dandruff and are loaded with natural antiseptic and essential oils which in turn help counter greasiness.

Our shampoo bars include the following essential oils:

Rice Bran Oil
Rice bran oil boosts hair growth, helps prevent dandruff and reduces split ends. It also helps prevent premature graying of hair.

Avocado Oil
Avocado oil helps moisturize your scalp and hair. It prevents hair breakage, strengthens the hair shaft and over all helps keep the scalp healthy and nourished.

Castor Oil
Castor oil helps make the roots stronger and prevents hair fall. It stimulates hair growth from dormant follicles. It also plays a vital role in balancing the pH of your scalp.

Eucalyptus Oil
Eucalyptus oil is a natural antiseptic and therefore helps control and curd dandruff issues. It improves the overall health of your hair and its luster.

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil penetrates through the hair shaft and helps with great nourishment. It also helps control dry and itchy scalp and stimulates hair growth.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil helps unclog hair follicles and nourish roots. It has anti-fungal properties that help in maintaining a healthy scalp and promotes hair growth.

Olive Oil
Olive oil helps promote healthy and thicker hair growth. It helps repair damaged and brittle hair as well as dry and flaky scalp.

How does one use a shampoo bar?
One can gently rub it between wet palms and then apply the lather to your hair or directly rub it to your damp hair. We do not recommend washing your hair daily irrespective of the product but if you must, our bars are 100% safe for daily use.

We hope this little write up gives you a good sense of all the benefits that comes from switching over to solid shampoo bars. Hope you try them soon and definitely give us your feedback. Until then have a great day!
